Taj Falaknuma Palace

Heritage & Design

Taj Falaknuma Palace is sheer poetry. The pristine white façade with its graceful minarets and arched windows gives way to a breathtaking interior that is truly museum-worthy.

This magnificent palace belongs to the Nizam of Hyderabad, and it took over ten years of painstaking restoration to bring it back to its former glory.

Shaped like a scorpion, it’s an architectural marvel. Its 60 rooms and suites are sophisticated yet subtle. The palace is home to priceless antiques and objets d’art such as an enormous banquet table that seats 101 guests, and a magnificent billiards table whose only twin lies at Windsor Castle, making this property is an antiquarian’s dream.

One of our favourite things about this palace is the number of delightful venues where one an sit back, relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Whether it’s the beautiful gazebo overlooking the entire city of Hyderabad beneath, the serene poolside or the beautiful verandah as the sun sets over the city and live musicians serenade you, there’s no end to Falaknuma’s charm. Personal butlers attend to your every need, while the rest of the staff is attentive and warm, while respecting your privacy. If you seek a grand palace to call your own, then Falaknuma needs to be on top of your wishlist.
